How not to go off-roading

So after a trip up to Hebert, AZ to enjoy some snow and the company of friends, we decide to first hit the strip club up in Payson. Its 11am on a Sunday and because we were still a little intoxicated from the previous night we think everyplace is still open, YES even a strip club. Well it was closed much to our surprise. Speaking of Payson, AZ congrats to the high school team. 3A State Champs! They have nothing on Nibb High!!!

Back to the off-roading. After multiple attempts to find an open road off of the highway we come across one. Things are going good, the road sodas are tasting better than ever, the rental H3 is tearing up the terrain. Gaining confidence by crossing several small creeks/washes, Mr. S. gets cocky and starts to drive down a wash. He stops, looks around informs us we are stuck. Great, we are in the middle of nowhere in a wash with rain fast approaching. We get out get unstuck but only bury ourselves deeper. Standing around we are looking to eachother for answers until we hear gun shots. Mr. S decides to walk towards the gun shots we hear and while me being hungover and lazy decide to sit and watch the vehicle sink.
After 30 mins to an hr. Mr S. comes back with a few rednecks looking only for a payment of booze, we were in luck because we had a cooler full. On the first attempt to pull us out, they now get stuck. Now were all there waiting for the wash to rise and sweep the trucks away until two jeeps come by to get us both unstuck.

We had the rental h3 so stuck it took two jeeps and a truck to pull us out. Looking back at this day it may be the best of 2009. We went from thinking we were in trouble to the satisfaction of getting out and knowing more beers were in our future. Can't wait to get the next rental stuck!

1st Spring Training game of 2009

So it is finally here, the best month to live in the Phoenix area. SPRING TRAINING! On Friday 2/27 we went to watch the KC Royals play at Scottsdale Stadium vs the SF Giants. I really could not tell you who won the game but I can tell you about the beer, ticket and food prices. We got our tickets online through mlb.com. Being this was a Friday game the lawn or general admission tickets were $13 before the $2.50 print at home surcharge and add on the Ticketmaster surcharges it came out to be $18 give or take a dollar. I had also ordered March 17th tickets to see the Brewers vs the Giants in Scottsdale and the total was only $11.50, go figure.

Once getting there I made the mistake of bringing along two of the same tickets, but the usher was cool and let me in. First stop, ATM. Second stop, beer! Beer prices are usual $7 for a 16oz bottle, they were cold it was warm and the sound of PLAY BALL was a few minutes away. Went to right field and watch Randy Johnson warm up with Molina with some catch. After some "talent" scouting, it was on to the crows nest out in center field. From there we watched 7 innings of baseball had a few sodas and a hot dog ($5.75). Since there were no more beer sales after the 7th inning stretch it was time to walk over to the Blue Moose in the Civic Center, followed by the Coach house. (Coach house offers burgers and dogs at the price of a donation) Here are a few photos, sorry no photos of me on the ground after I took a spill on my way home.

This is my favorite stadium to visit for a game in March. A 5 min walk from work, a 5 min drive from home, a lot of scenery at the game, and a comfortable stadium. Next up Dodgers at Cubs 3/6.

Ebay is addicting and I cant ride a bike

After a weekend where of debauchery that started with me riding then falling off of my bike while riding home after a Spring training game (yes I had several soda pops at the game) , I am just getting around to this blog thing. Still too busy to add anything other than to let you know EBAY is addicting, since adding my first item for sale last week I never realized how easy it was to make a quick dime. So now I am hooked. Some photos of the spring training event last Friday will be up tonight.
